On 7-9 June 2006, ICMPD and EUROPOL organised, in co-operation with FRONTEX, the second and last meeting of the preparatory phase of the forthcoming joint ICMPD-EUROPOL MTM project ‘Towards a Comprehensive Response to Mixed Migration Flows’.

Hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, this event focused on Migration Flows and Trends in the Mediterranean – Challenges to the Migration Management Systems. Building up on the outcome of the Beirut meeting, the objectives were to assess how the weaknesses and shortcomings in the migration management systems along the identified migration routes are exploited, and aimed to identify possible response measures.
