Process to develop the National Policy on Diaspora of Burundi is launched
On 18–22 August 2014, the first activity of the MIgration EU eXpertise (MIEUX) Burundi II Action was held in Bujumbura. This second action in Burundi aims to support Burundian authorities in the development of the National Policy on Diaspora.
Workshop highlights importance of effective systems of risk analysis and cooperation
On 13–14 August 2014, the ICMPD project 'Eastern Partnership Cooperation in the Fight against Irregular Migration – Supporting the Implementation of the Prague Process Action Plan' (EaP-SIPPAP) held a national workshop in Minsk, Belarus, on systems of risk analysis.
Customs officials receive training on the detection of smuggled goods and cigarettes
On 12 August 2014, ICMPD, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), started a three-day bilateral training for 20 customs officials from the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine on the detection of smuggled goods and cigarettes.
ICMPD supports fifteen West African countries in the fight against human trafficking
On 21–25 July 2014, ICMPD is supporting the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) with its Annual Review Meeting of the Member States' National Focal Points (NFPs) on Trafficking in Persons (TIP) at the ECOWAS Commission headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.
