ICMPD Training for the Labour Attachés of the Philippines

ICMPD's MIEUX programme, funded by the EU, carried out training sessions for the labour attachés of the Philippines based in the EU Member States from 15 - 17 May 2012 at ICMPD's headquarters in Vienna.

The training sessions featured topics ranging from irregular migration and human trafficking to migrants' rights. The Ambassador of the Philippines to the Republic of Austria, H.E. Ms. Lourdes O. Yparraguirre, and Mr. Martijn Pluim, Director of the Eastern Dimension at ICMPD, gave opening remarks and provided insight into the current situation of Filipino migrants. ICMPD staff members and representatives from government agencies and NGOs provided informative and interesting presentations on the training's topics.
