On 6 November 2023, the ICMPD office in Armenia hosted a roundtable discussion on innovative diaspora investments in Armenia under the EU4IMPACT project. The aim of the event was to discuss and brainstorm potential diaspora investment opportunities beyond those provided by the EU4IMPACT project. This includes gauging interest in investing in Armenian securities and investment funds as well as other passive investment options.

The event was accompanied by a high-level reception on the occasion of ICMPD’s 30-year anniversary. In Armenia, ICMPD continues work closely with national counterparts such as the Migration and Citizenship Service of Armenia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, the Border Guard Troops, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. At the reception, the agency representatives expressed their deep appreciation and commitment to continued collaboration to create a positive and transformative impact on migration management.

The Head of the EECA Region, Radim Zak, the Head of the ICMPD office in Armenia, Carel Hofstra, national and international partners, high-level government officials, and diplomats highlighted the established and long-lasting cooperation between Armenia and ICMPD, which has come a long way in time and substance.

The EU4IMPACT project was launched in September 2020 to support Armenian migrants, returnees and members of their families to establish a business or develop an already existing business as well as to develop their capacities in business management and business start-up skills. The project is implemented by ICMPD and funded by the European Union.
