NAVRR Project organized a study visit to Uzbekistan to strengthen migration dialogues for Türkiye’s NAVRR Mechanism

The NAVRR Project, implemented by ICMPD, recently conducted a study visit to Tashkent Uzbekistan, between the dates of 19-20 June 2023 to establish and strengthen migration dialogues between Türkiye and Uzbekistan on the axis of return and reintegration within the framework of Türkiye's National Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (NAVRR) Mechanism.  

The delegation participating in the study visit was composed of NAVRR stakeholders, including the Presidency of Migration Management (PMM), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), and the Turkish Red Crescent Society. During the visit, trilateral meetings were organized with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, The Agency for External Labour Migration, the Mahalla Foundation, and three NGOs in Uzbekistan including, İntilish, Nihol, and Istiqbolli Avlod. The visit served the purpose of introducing the National Mechanism in Türkiye to Uzbek authorities and NGOs and establishing new networks for the voluntary, dignified, and sustainable return and reintegration of Uzbek migrants from Türkiye to Uzbekistan.
