The inauguration of the National Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (NAVRR) Coordination Centre located in Kumkapı/İstanbul took place on the 7th of September 2023. Among the participants were the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) Türkiye Country Office, the Presidency of Migration Management (PMM), Turkish Red Crescent and the representatives of the British Embassy in Ankara.
The event took place within the framework of the project titled “Establishment of Assisted Voluntary Return Coordination Centres in Türkiye (RETOUR Project)” implemented by ICMPD with the funding of the British Embassy in Ankara.
The participants also visited the office recently rented at the Istanbul Airport under the RETOUR Project, to support the return operations.
The RETOUR project aims at improving the physical capacities of Türkiye’s Assisted Voluntary Return Hubs in Istanbul to enhance the standards of the voluntary return operations. The Project started on 1 December 2022 and is planned to be completed on 31 March 2024.
