On 22-23 February 2024, the NAVRR project organised a dynamic workshop on the establishment of the Community Engagement Programme, in a collaborative effort between ICMPD and the Presidency of Migration Management. The event brought together key stakeholders including representatives from the Presidency of Migration Management, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, the Turkish Red Crescent, and local NGOs.

The workshop featured insightful sessions on community-based outreach activities, communication materials, and international best practices. Participants actively engaged in case studies and simulations, fostering an interactive learning environment that sparked brainstorming sessions, particularly in the context of providing information services and outreach to migrants, and potential returnees.

The collaborative efforts culminated in the development of a comprehensive roadmap for the community engagement programme, outlining short and medium-term goals. The NAVRR Project, funded by Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, is committed to sustaining outreach and communication activities to further the objectives of Türkiye’s National Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Mechanism.
