The NAVRR Project actively supports the engagement of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) with Türkiye's National Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Mechanism (NAVRR). This initiative, led by ICMPD in close partnership with the Presidency of Migration Management, recently organised a significant event in Ankara on October 4-5, 2023.

The main purpose of this event was to integrate NGOs into the activities of Türkiye's NAVRR Mechanism. Representatives from nine different NGOs based in Ankara, İstanbul, and İzmir, as well as key government agencies such as the Presidency of Migration Management, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, and Turkish Red Crescent, actively participated in this workshop.

Throughout the workshop, participants had the invaluable opportunity to gain insights into NAVRR Mechanism's legal framework and operational processes. Furthermore, they learned from the best practices established in Belgium and received information about the Return & Reintegration Facility (RRF). The workshop also highlighted ICMPD's work in implementing Migrant Resource Centres in countries of origin.

During the workshop, representatives from the attending NGOs shared their potential contributions, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. The event culminated in a roundtable discussion aimed at exploring avenues to enhance outreach and cooperation.

It is noteworthy that the NAVRR Project, financed by Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, will continue to offer training activities on Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) for NGOs and Municipalities, further advancing its mission and objectives.
