In the framework of the EU funded project EU Support for the Effective Management of Green and Blue Borders in Albania (EU4SAFEALB) implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the first Project Steering Committee meeting took place on 12 January 2021.
The project supports the provision of modern technical means and specific trainings to the Border and Migration Police of the Albanian State Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to enhance the Albanian national capacity to counter organised cross-border crime and drug trafficking.
Project’s overall objective is to support the Border and Migration Police of the Albanian State Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (BMP) to achieve effective border control and surveillance to prevent and combat the trafficking in narcotics.
The project is designed to achieve the following specific objective: to contribute to an enhanced BMP capacity to counter organised cross-border crime and drug trafficking through the provision of modern specialised technical means and the capacity building of BMP staff.
The project supports the achievement of the following results:
