Summary
The ICMPD-Sida Programme aims to strengthen rights-based migration and border governance systems and to enhance the institutional capacities of national authorities in priority countries identified by Sida. The Programme aligns with the Agency’s priorities identified in the Sweden’s Global Development Cooperation Strategy on Migration, Returns and Voluntary Repatriation (2024-2028), (i) countering the risks of irregular migration by promoting protection sensitive migration and border management practices in partner countries; and (ii) fostering effective return and sustainable reintegration by enhancing support services and coherent reintegration ecosystems in countries of origin and transit.
