Summary
The overall objective of this pilot project is to strengthen the capacities of border officials responsible for the initial verification of the authenticity of travel and identity documents in the border points of Senegal, through the delivery of a specialised training programme in document security, including techniques for analysing secure documents, as well as a Train the Trainers (ToT) component.
The programme is structured around three core trainings:
- Vocational Train the Trainer Programme (Valetta, Malta)
The course will equip selected participants with core skills to become trainers, focused on adult learning principles, innovative teaching methods and effective evaluation techniques. - Document Examination Essentials Course (Brussels, Belgium)
This course will equip participants with the practical skills to detect document fraud, evaluate the authenticity of travel documents, and apply basic examination techniques using standard detection equipment. - Training in Document Security (Dakar, Senegal)
Newly appointed transfers will lead a training session in Dakar, where they will apply the new skills and competencies acquired in the two previous training sessions. By leveraging local expertise, the aim of this session is to cascade knowledge to other border officials, ensuring local ownership and the durability of the project.
