Moldova’s IBM Council met on 27 May to review progress and kick off the 2026–2030 border management program. The new policy document will be developed with SCOP project support, aligning with EU standards for smarter and safer borders.
Summary
This action is part of a broader module-based project titled “Support to the Complex Improvement of Migration and Border Management in Moldova” (SCOP) and builds upon earlier efforts in the sector. The Component 3.1 - Phase II of the SCOP project continues strengthening the technical and human capacities of the migration authorities, particularly the Inspectorate General of Border Police as a front-line response agency.
Objective
The overall objective of the SCOP project is to support Moldovan authorities in consolidation of migration and border management system in line with the EU Acquis. Component 3.1 - Phase II of the SCOP project aims at contributing to the resilience and capacities of the Moldovan Border Police in responding effectively to crisis situations and integrated border management, through acquiring selected equipment and carrying out capacity building activities.
