Objective:

The Technical Assistance provided by the consortium (GOPA, ICMPD, PMCG) contributes to the successful implementation of the programme “Migration & Diaspora” implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The consortium is responsible for supporting GIZ in component three “migration governance”/ field of action 5 “migration policy advice” to strengthen the capacity of partner institutions to achieve development-related goals of the GCM.

Summary:

As integrated part of the GIZ programme, the Technical Assistance Team (TAT) will develop, implement and scale up capacity development measures in ten GIZ focal countries. Key deliverable is the development and execution of a demand driven and tailor made training programme per country. The thematic focus lies on development oriented migration management and economic development, in the overall framework of the Global Compact for Migration (GCM). ICMPD provides the Team Leader of the TAT and leads conceptual and migration management related decision-making. Furthermore, ICMPD provides the majority of the Short Term Experts (STE) that will carry out the training measures. GOPA, as Lead Consultant, ensures the overall contract management as well as the Liaison with the GIZ. PMCG ensure the sustainable implementation in Georgia.
