ICMPD opens a Ukrainian Consultation Centre in Düsseldorf

24 September 2025

Germany

On 18 September 2025, ICMPD's Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia officially opened a new Ukrainian Consultation Centre (UCC) in Düsseldorf, Germany. The Centre was established within the framework of the Comprehensive Resilience Support for Displaced Persons from Ukraine (CORE-UA) project, funded by the (National) German AMIF Programme 2021-2027 and the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).

The UCC provides people displaced by the war in Ukraine with accurate and timely information on safe and orderly migration in EU Member States. Visitors can receive in-person, online, or phone consultations on topics such as their status under temporary protection, residence, and potential return home.

Since its opening, the UCC in Düsseldorf has already welcomed many visitors from North Rhine-Westphalia. The Centre provides temporarily displaced people from Ukraine with clear, timely and accessible information on their stay in Germany under temporary protection, including rights and obligations, education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and more.

The UCC works in close cooperation with the Ukrainian Consulate in Düsseldorf, providing support on consular matters and information about services and programmes offered by the Ukrainian government. The Consultation Centre also collaborates with local NGOs, Ukrainian diaspora organisations, state agencies, and local authorities to ensure broad outreach and coordinated support.

In the coming months, the Centre will expand its outreach activities to include information sessions on specific topics and active participation in Ukrainian diaspora events, such as workshops, trainings, and networking opportunities.
