Workshop in Chișinău brings together law enforcement institutions to finalise 2025 national report

On 12 November in Chișinău, the SCOP project convened Moldova’s Joint Risk Analysis Working Group to assess current border security challenges, share institutional updates, and advance the drafting of the Joint Risk Analysis Report for 2025.

The session brought together representatives from key law enforcement and border management institutions, including the Border Police, National Police, Customs Service, Prosecutor’s Office, Migration Inspectorate, Security Service, Anti-Money Laundering Service, and the Operational Management Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

This was the second in a series of workshops designed to strengthen Moldova’s joint risk analysis function in line with European Union (EU) standards. To support this process, ICMPD engaged two experts – one EU and one national – who provided complementary perspectives. The EU expert presented best practices and relevant European standards, while the national expert ensured practical alignment with Moldova’s institutional frameworks.

The session reviewed the current border security landscape, assessed analytical activities across institutions, and worked collaboratively to finalise the 2025 Joint Risk Analysis Report. The workshop also explored the Working Group’s role in integrated border management and its contribution to Moldova’s strategic development priorities.

Funded by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic and implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the SCOP project supports Moldovan authorities in harmonising migration and border management systems with the EU acquis. By enhancing institutional resilience and capacity, the project enables effective border management and timely responses to emerging challenges.
