Moldova (Republic of)

On 6 February 2026, ICMPD supported a session of Moldova’s National Joint Risk Analysis Working Group in Chisinau, bringing together the law enforcement community to review activities carried out in 2025 and to plan analytical priorities for 2026.

The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) supported a workshop on risk analysis that gathered members of the National Joint Risk Analysis Working Group, including representatives of the Border Police, National Police, Customs Service, Migration Inspectorate, Security Service, Anti‑Money Laundering Service, and the Operational Management Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The workshop was the third in a series of events organised under the project “Support for Comprehensive Migration and Border Management in Moldova” (SCOP) and contributed to strengthening Moldovan authorities’ analytical capacities and coordinated responses in the field of migration and border management.

Participants reviewed the activities of the Joint Risk Analysis Working Group in 2025, discussing key developments and the main risks identified at the state border. Building on this review, the group worked on drafting the 2025 activity report and outlining the activity plan for 2026. Participants also discussed proposals for the content of the Joint Risk Analysis Report for 2026 and jointly developed a preliminary list of border‑related risks to be assessed in the coming year. These discussions aimed to ensure a common understanding of priorities and emerging trends.

Funded by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic and implemented by ICMPD, the SCOP project supports Moldovan authorities in harmonising migration and border management systems with the EU acquis. By enhancing institutional resilience and capacity, the project contributes to effective border management and timely responses to emerging challenges.
