Summary

Objectives: The overall objectives of the project were: 1) to help increase security in the Central Asian region, 2) to contribute toward the facilitation of legitimate trade and transit and 3) reduce the illicit movement of goods and people. The project supported Central Asian countries with the implementation of the principles and practices of a European Integrated Border Management (IBM) concept in their border management strategies and action plans. In addition, it enhanced the professional skills of law enforcement officers working at borders through a series of trainings and workshops.
