Summary

The project “EU Training Support to Libya’s Border Security and Management Institutions” is funded by the European Union and will be implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) until the end of 2025 in full cooperation with the relevant Libyan and international partners.

The project will start with a comprehensive feasibility study and needs assessment of the relevant national institutions, in relation to training provision in the area of border management. This will be done in view of supporting the development of the concept and policy framework for training centre(s) in Libya under the umbrella of the Libyan agencies that have concrete mandates with respect to Border Security and Management.

Objectives

The project’s overall objective is to contribute to the improvement of Libya’s state services through the institutional development of the relevant border security and management training centre(s) aiming at improving migration and border management in line with core international human rights standards.

The project’s specific objective is to support the establishment/enhancement of the identified operational training centre(s) via the enhancement of professional standards, state services, and operational capacities.
