Summary

Objective
The overall objective of the project is to support the efforts and capacities in managing migration by strengthening interagency cooperation in data collection, analysis and management, and developing the capacities of stakeholders on migration governance and policy development.
The project will strengthen the evidence base for migration policies in Jordan by advancing the Central Migration Data Management Solution. Building on the results from the first project phase, the second phase of the project will include Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Civil Status and Passport Department and Social Security Corporation in the data management solution.

Summary:
The project is closely aligned with the Mobility Partnership between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the European Union and its participating Member States, which identifies data collection as an important horizontal cooperation area. More specifically, the related joint declaration of October 2014 - to which Denmark is a signatory - proposes to support Jordan in order to ensure that accurate and reliable data are collected on migratory movements so that they can inform policy through adequate mechanisms or institutions in place in order to achieve mutually beneficial migration management.
