Summary
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the safe international mobility and wellbeing of displaced Ukrainian citizens, including preparations for sustainable return home. The initiative aims to strengthen the resilience and preparedness of Ukrainian state institutions and civil society, further enhancing migration governance, consular services, and national unity.
The project is part of ICMPD’s and its Member States, particularly, Czech Republic, comprehensive initiative aimed at addressing the immediate, medium- and long-term priorities of Ukrainian state regarding protection of the human capital of the country. The measures proposed under the project include activities to be implemented in Ukraine and in the Czech Republic. The project focuses on achieving the following specific objectives:
- Supporting the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine in involvement of the Ukrainian community in recovery and reconstruction efforts while also leveraging resources and networks to assist Ukrainian displaced persons in the Czech Republic
- Supporting the State Migration Service of Ukraine by improving the agency’s operational capabilities and readiness
- Enhancing the effectiveness of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Consular offices abroad through tailored capacity-building programmes and resource mobilisation
