On 3-4 June 2026, the European Union Migration and Displacement Capacity Assistance Project (EU-MIDCAP) launched its Colombia Action in Medellín, in partnership with the Secretariat for Social Inclusion and Family of the District of Medellín. The activity marked the start of EU-MIDCAP support to the District in strengthening the monitoring and evaluation framework of Medellín’s Public Policy on Migration Management.
Summary
EU-MIDCAP is a peer-to-peer Facility supporting partner country authorities and civil society organisations, as well as regional bodies, to design and implement their migration and forced displacement management systems in line with international standards and to develop their cooperation with the EU and its Member States. Funded by the European Union (DG INTPA) and co-implemented by a Consortium led by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) together with UNHCR, the authorities of Belgium (through Enabel), Czechia, Poland, Spain and Sweden, as well as UNICEF, EU-MIDCAP provides rapid, tailor-made assistance upon request.
