An event dedicated to December 18, International Migrants Day, on the topic of “Migrants in Azerbaijan: Equality, Diversity and Inclusion was jointly organised by ICMPD Azerbaijan and the State Migration Service in Azerbaijan. The event brought together up to 200 employees of the State Migration Service, ICMPD Head of Region EECA and ICMPD Azerbaijan representatives, high-level representatives of international organizations, government institutions, civil society institutes operating in the migration field, the private sector, diplomatic corps members, as well as migrants.

Summary
The objective of the project is contribute to the development and implementation of an evidence-based migration and border management policy agenda in the Republic of Azerbaijan. In detail, the project aims at contributing to developing institutional capacities on migration policy development and implementation; to institutionalising migration data collection, analysis and application; enhancing and standardising institutional procedures for capacity building on migration and border management; and developing institutional and public awareness on migration policy agenda and irregular migration threats.
Summary: The 36-month long project was developed in close cooperation with national institutions of Azerbaijan and focuses on migration and border governance and management skills; contribution to improved migration data, research and analysis; and awareness-raising of the Azerbaijani society on migration.
The MOBILAZE 2 project is a direct follow-up to the MOBILAZE 1 project which ran from 2016 to 2019 when ICMPD was tasked by the European Commission to implement the MOBILAZE 1 to support the fulfilment of the objectives set in the Mobility Partnership between the EU Member States and Azerbaijan signed in 2013.
