Project News: ICMPD and Germany sign agreement in support of ICMPD project in Tunisia

On 6th December, ICMPD Director General, Micheal Spindelegger, met the Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations in Vienna, Gerhard K√ľntzle, to sign an agreement in support of an ICMPD project working on Integrated Border Management in Tunisia.

The grant of 1.5 Million Euro will support in strengthening the capacities of the Tunisian authorities to prevent irregular migration.The programme will support good governance through the modernisation and strengthening of the capacities of the Tunisian authorities in charge of border control and surveillance. The aim is to increase security at the borders, promote stability and regional cooperation, facilitate trade and develop the movement of people and goods.
