Project News: Towards a sustainable cooperation between EaP and EU countries on IBM-related matters

The action “Fostering capacities and cooperation on IBM among EaP training institutions” is a new 8-month initiative aiming to strengthen the strategic and operational cooperation on Integrated Border management (IBM) between four Mobility Partnership countries (Armenia, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova) and four EU Member States (Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia).

By peer-to-peer exchanges of experiences and practices the action’s main goal is to foster the role of training institutions role on the formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of IBM strategies and actions plans, enhance their capacity and assess the feasibility of reinforcing their coordination mechanism. The potential setting up of an operational platform for knowledge exchange on matters related to IBM will be investigated in order to foster dialogue, policy ideas and practices of cross-border and international cooperation on issues pertaining to IBM.
Hosted by the Hungarian National University of Public Service in cooperation with the Hungarian Ministry of Interior, the first meeting of the Action Implementation Team took place on 26-27 September 2017 in Budapest.
The meeting represented a stock-taking moment on the roles, functions, experience, achievements of training institutions involved in relation to IBM-related matters. Moreover, partner organisations had the opportunity to discuss and share their training and capacity building needs. Building on the wealth of information collected, participants were invited to identify specific training modules which will be the focus of three upcoming peer regional thematic events that will take place in , Belarus, Moldova and Bulgaria.    More information on MPF can be found here
